Child abandoment Essay Example for Free

Child abandoment Essay Many babies are abandoned by parents who avoid their responsibilities. It could be have really serious problems, but it is irresponsible behavior. In addition, some parents abandon the babies outside. It is cruel behavior. We should not ignore this problem. There are three solutions: controlling illegal abandonment, allowing abortion legally, and educating people to use contraception. Controlling illegal abandonment is a good way to prevent babies from being abandoned. The police should catch and punish the parents who abandon their babies. Because it is the same as murder. So it has to be strictly controlled. However, its hard to find and catch the parents because they abandon babies secretly. Therefore, the government should set cameras that track everything everywhere, and warn people that if they abandon their babies, they will be punished intensely. Allowing abortion legally can prevent babies from being abandoned. There are some countries in which abortion is illegal. So the women who want abortion decide to do dangerous illegal abortion or abandon the babies. So the government should allow abortion. Nevertheless, some people will disagree if the government allows abortion. In this case, the government should persuade women to make their own decisions about their bodies. Education people to use contraception is the best way to prevent babies from being abandoned. Many people dont know how important contraception is. So the government should educate people to do contraception to prevent unwanted babies. However, some people ignore or dont believe this kind of education. Thus, the government should educate people since they are children. In conclusion, we can try some solutions to prevent babies from being abandoned even though it is not easy. The government should set cameras that track everything, and warn people to control illegal abandonment. And the government should allow abortion legally and persuade people who disagree of abortion. Also, the government should educate people since they are children to learn how important contraception is.

1900s Worldwide Overpopulation :: Essays Papers

1900s Worldwide Overpopulation Michael Beadling Jonathan Swift, author of, â€Å" A Modest Proposal† is not alone in his literary theories regarding a method to cure the plaguing disease of overpopulation. Overpopulation meaning: the inability of society and of Earth to accommodate an excessive amount of persons. This problem has been addressed and dealt with in a variety of ways for hundreds of years. It is thought, that if there are too many people, than every new addition to the population takes away from those who already exist. So, if this is the case, why not stop the newcomers from coming or rid t he one’s who just arrived? Theses above mentioned thoughts eventually are put to action and made laws by government. A man by the name of, Paul Ehrlich, who was an advocate for population control, stated in his book, The Population Bomb, â€Å" we can no longer afford merely to treat the symptoms of cancer of population growth; the cancer itself must be cut out†(xi). By this quote he means that we can’t just keep giving â€Å"medicine† to the disease in hopes that will cure it, we have to completely eliminate the disease. In the people’s country, the Unites States of America, eradicating children and putting to death those who bare children is not something that is practiced. This does not, however, hold true for other countries. China is presumably the most famous country for enforcing strict population control. Acknowledging that China is a communist country, they hold the power to carry out their rules as they see fit. An article in The New York Times stated, â€Å"Chinese women were rounded up and forced to have abortions; vigilantes abducted pregnant women on the streets and hauled them off, sometimes hand-cuffed or trussed, to abortion clinics†(Wren). In the Wall Street Journal, Steven Mosher wrote that the People’s Press agreeably talked about â€Å" the butchering, drowning, and leaving to die of female infants and maltreating of women who have given birth to girls†(Mosher) The people of China believe that a man is more apt and able to take care of his parents than a female, so they prefer the births of men over women. Although China may seem evil in their antics for population control, the US has it’s own ghosts. Planned Parenthood is one of the few entities promoting family planning and birth control. This is a group whose tactics lack bribery and corruption.

Disaster Assessment and Recovery Plan

In the given scenario, my establishment was badly damaged when the child of a customer left in a running vehicle; he accidentally shifted the car into forward, destroying the store’s main entrance causing enormous damages to my facility. Herewith is the disaster assessment and recovery plan for my business facility. In assessing the damage, I need to identify what areas have been damaged, what products were affected, how much its estimated cost, was the damaged area repairable, how much might it costs, were there anyone hurt, what kind treatment they need, and how much would be the overall cost of the damaged items and products, the facility, and the injured customers. Initial assessment shows the glass towards the front and left side area was broken due to the impact of the car. Many product items littered the floor and some in glass container were broken and two of the customers inside were hit by flying debris from the broken glass. The series of questions above could help de termine not only the extent of the damages but also what course of actions are needed, and which one urgently needs attention. Obviously, the two customers who were hurt were the top priority as they urgently need to be brought to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any problem on the power supply. However, there were some items that were broken and damaged including some frozen foods. Product items that were damaged or broken will be itemized and will be collected as part of data collection. In case the power supply was lost, all the perishable goods that could not be refrigerated will be considered damaged and will be charged to the owner of the car. After all the data is collected; it is time to evaluate these data to determine the exact overall costs of the incident. The recovery plan Based on the results of disaster assessment, I need to appoint somebody who has a wide organizational influence to prepare a business contingency plan project and to m anage it. His task includes insuring cooperation from other concern departments to make sure the on going project is properly funded and to provide strategic direction for the business. He or she will act as the contingency planning coordinator, who is responsible for the successful completion of the project.I should then meet with him to define the scope of the project, the project timeline, and expectations. The repairs and completion of the project will take two weeks, which includes assessment of the overall cost of the damages. Next to this, the planning coordinator must select his team who will work with him. They should create the project plan to be implemented in managing the project and to execute this plan. He should oversee its implementation. When everything is done and the business is back to its previous form, I should keep the contingency manager and his team in my business not only as a token of appreciation but knowing they can do great in my business. To avoid this incident to happen again, I would include in the project the construction of parking lot situated opposite the store with hump and support beam on the immediate perimeter of the building. I will also hire security guard to man and check the parking lot area to avoid the occurrence of similar incidence.
